If you’ve read any of the last eighteen years of this blog you will know what I’m about to tell you. If you haven’t, you won’t. In which case, welcome, thanks for dropping in. You can catch up if you want ... it won’t take long.
I live in France.
I’m English.
I see the word pain (bread) and I still think, ow! That hurts.
I see the word degustation (tasting) and I think, do I want to? Will it be nice or horrible?
Terroir (……) It will be!
Some part of my brain decodes the codes in an un-coded manner.
A few days previously, I was in the supermarket again and I needed some washing up liquid.
You can never have enough I find, and I like to have a bottle in reserve.
Or two.
Three.
Four would be stretching it, besides I have restricted cupboard capacity.
Anyway… a bottle of washing up liquid caught my eye.
It claimed to be made of 97 per cent natural ingredients.
Good for sensitive skins.
Concentrated (I like that in a cleaning product).
And, hidden away in smaller text - in a hundred percent recycled packaging.
But what really excited me was the name!
JE SUIS VERT.
The spacing between the letters are much smaller on the label than they are in this post.
And written as two lines.
JE SUIS.
VERT.
Is it just me?
I am at least expecting a miracle in my washing up bowl.
Perhaps a parting of the waters?
