The Last Time i Saw a Tortoise.

This blog – the blog with bits – has, for the last few posts (12), being doing ‘when was the last time…’ stuff.

Electric shocks, sisters, hitch-hikers, petrified waterfalls, swimming, dew-baths and potatoes.

Etc.

Etc.

But not – until now- tortoises. (Tortoi?)

Previously….. well…… August was when I last saw her.

Then came a conversation, a few days ago.

“Sandra wants to give us two tortoi.”

“I think it might be tortoises."

“Whatever.”

“Or Tortae.”

“Yeah, like I said.”

“Why?”

“Her daughter has stopped caring for them.”

“I don’t have a good track record you know.”

“You have space.”

I do – that’s the problem.

A LOT of places to search.

A LOT of places to hide.

Then two days later, an alert goes out on the local airwaves.

A tortoise has been found wandering down the middle of the near-by road.

Could it be?

I went to collect it.

Hmmm.

Can they grow that much in nine months?
