I met a guy the other day who, when I said that the
unusually clement weather and late blooming roses probably indicated that the
end of the world were nigh, replied – it won’t be the end of the world, just
the end of humanity.
Fair point.

The planet itself will carry on, without
us.
He’s a young guy, younger than I- I thought
he would have been more concerned.
Instead he chomped on his biscuit – a
vanilla cream sandwich – and had another slug of coffee.
