The Present of the Past.

Once upon a time I sat alongside Mr Eddie Izzard (star of stage and screen) and discussed the merits, or not, of costume whilst performing comedy.

I was, still am actually, a great believer in comedy socks.

This was, however, a long time ago.

The last time that we spoke, a few years ago, the conversation was more like this-

“Are you still in the business, Chris?”

“No.”

So we talked about the food that we were eating, which being Californian, was pretty good.

Just not very funny.

But….

Since then, my past digitally caught up with my present.

Or..

The past caught up with my digital present.

Or…

Digitally my past is present.

What I’m trying to say here, is….

that this is one of the things I used to do (link).

Not so.

What an accusation!

To quote Shakespeare liberally [Merchant of Venice]:

<< Hath not I eyes, hands, organs,
dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with
the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject
to the same diseases, heal'd by the same means,
warm'd and cool'd by the same winter and summer?
Do I not bleed?
If you tickle me, do I not laugh? >>

I rest my case. Funny is funny. Talented is talented.

I miss those guys.
