Thought of The Day 35

Well I must say – this is a fine time to turn up for our special, once a week Thought of The Day here on Bitsnbobs, the blog that specialises on Sunday. Do you realise it’s nearly bedtime?

No.

So… have you been to the cinema this week?

No.

Visited anywhere exotic, Venice by chance?

No.

Good God, well …… have you been to a party?

sigh –No.

No, no, thrice times no, are you ill?

No.

Depressed?

No.

Cat got your tongue?

No.

Will you stop it with the negatives! Can’t you say anything else?

Yes.

Ah, good – so what’s your problem?

I left my glasses in the mountains.

Ah – blind as a bat?

Yes.

How can you see to write?

Can’t.

Is that why you’re being monosyllabic?

Yes.

You know - they say love is blind.

Sigh

In the valley of the blind the one eyed beggar is King.

Green valley?

Emerald.

That helps.

I sense sarcasm.

Yes.

Haven’t you got a spare pair?

No.

Don’t start that again.

What?

No.

Talking of the blind, and talking of the mountains, I read this earlier.

Hang on, what happened – you got all eloquent.

I’m squinting.

Oh – carry on.

Yes, I found it among a list of Sayings of the Blind, apparently written by William Stafford, which I found on this blog and includes “feeling is believing”.

So – what do the blind say about mountains.

Mountains don’t exist. But their slopes do.

I like it.

Apt.

It could be our thought of the day.

It could.
