Late at night, that’s the time.

Roses.

Up-rooted.

Up-rooted roses, that’s the action.

Wine bottle.

Empty.

Broken.

A broken wine bottle, formerly full, that’s another.

Old man.

Covered in a blanket.

Snoring.

An old man snoring in the snow, covered with a blanket, this is the main character.

A woman.

The police.

These are the others.

A table.

A carved heart.

A heart carved roughly into the table top, this is the apparent damage.
