Time For a Postcard 8.

a different one

This is a terrace.

On one side there is a small hedge, beyond which is the sea.

On the other side, behind me is a white wall.

It is the white only Mediterranean walls can have when they are close to the sea.

Next to me, against the wall is a pot overflowing with a blue flower.

It is the blue of the Mediterranean sea from antiquity.

There are several cacti at the end of the white wall.

They are happy.

They are proud.

There is bird song and trickling water.

Far off a car horn, a small dog and someone cutting grass.

There is a soft breeze.

And a palm tree.

Nice vacay and pics. Especially enjoyed Positano and the Steinbeck/Bassano story.

Just wondering if these are from last year or this spring?

PS - saying good-bye to The Greatest not because of his boxing titles but because of the courage of his convictions which advanced human dignity for all. Mx

Mary!!! Its an 'INT' not an 'AB'!!!!!!

popps said...

AND there is a clue in Time For a Postcard 3!!!

Mary said...

Meaning ???????????????

popps said...

You don't remember the Ints and the Abs??????!!!!

Mary said...

And don't send me to the BnB post of March 16 -- which I'm not sure that I understood at all!!!!

Interval interrupts and Archival blockages!!!!!!!

I don't speak Blog very well.

Before you go on to explain -- please remember the Circumlocution Office in Little Dorrit.

Use small words please and don't go round and round. My brain is fried from work and my 21 year old son who has returned from university and has taken my car leaving me on foot or bike in a town with no transit options.

Never, never lend your car to someone you gave birth to (literally or adoptively)!

Ok the blog, this year is trying to unblock a backlog that logged up in the archives (you remember the archives? - scotland/caves/twins).

So the posts are labeled AB to make that clear - archive backlog.

EXCEPT! Sometimes the editor is interrupting this flow of unblocking the backlog blocked up ( and back) in the archives with something from right now.

More or less.

So i'm probably in Italy right now.

More or less.

Anyway - enough about me.

How are things there?

More or less in Italy right now?

That about sums it up for me too -- always more or less somewhere but not really anywhere.

Last year my son took the car for 7 weeks!!! and brought it back with an unfortunate scrape on the side which I had to be repaired.

He's a good kid ... I am a tired mother.

A scrape!!!
Only a scrape!!!

I got a phone call in London (i am there too) telling me there was a problem with the car - two doors and windows completely smashed.

and while i was in Italy (oops - am) i got a ticket for driving through the traffic lights on red in FRANCE!!

On a lighter note:

Here is a link to a video from "Dancing with the Stars" [I think you call it Strictly Ballroom] from about a month ago when a fellow named Nyle DiMarco won the competition:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LW0Cwwtom8

Hope you will be able to view it. The remarkable thing about him is that he is completely DEAF - 4 generations - 25 family members -- all deaf. The Cha Cha in this video is his FIRST dance.

Here is the link to the last dance he performed the night before he won:

Unbelievable!!!!

Whirlwind tour of the continent?? But will Britain exit??

popps said...

I know you are Canadian Mary, and Italian too, but two counties doth not make a continent over here!!:-)
As for Britain.... was it ever 'in'?

Mary said...

I was including France and just realized you are in Ischia not Istria which is I think a different country.

Britain in? Yes and No.
