There were two guys, twins, born of the same egg, a good egg.
Yet one of the twins was invisible.
They were close as all twins are, but they grew up and went into separate lives.
The first twin got married and settled down, the invisible one moved away and being invisible was pretty much ignored by everyone.
Including his brother who led a pretty standard, normal routine life.
Much, much later, when most people thought the story had finished, the invisible twin met an invisible woman, something that would be pretty difficult normally.
In fact she wasn’t really invisible, she thought she was invisible, and she thought it so hard that it appeared to others to be so.
She was shrouded with absentness.
Which wouldn’t fool someone who really WAS invisible.
So they met, he saw through her emptiness and she saw, well, not easy to say – what does one see where there is nothing?
The non-invisible twin heard about it and got jealous.
He had no right to of course, but he was; he wanted to be invisible too because the invisible woman who wasn’t really invisible was visibly beautiful.
So the visible twin fought with the invisible twin, something you can only do, and understand, if you are a twin yourself.
And the one killed the other.
They didn’t die, because neither had really lived, but they were shadows of their former selves hating everything they had become and they faded into insignificance.
Which is probably worse than death.
And all they deserved.
Not much is known about the partly invisible woman.
Some say she is happy.
Some say she never existed.
