Thought of the Day (14)

Hey, you know these Sunday Thought of the Days?

I do, I do ……. this is one.

Yeah, well… shouldn’t they be full of…. er, thoughts?

They are.

They are?

They are.

How?

Well so far; radio, nicknames for currency, compassion, redemption religions, wisdom religions……

What?

There’s a difference?

There is.

There is?

There is!

What else?

Well, there was the week you thought it would be a good idea to do all this on your own.

Oh, yes – and the week after that I offered a thought about Time.

One of your finer moments I may add.

Thank you.

You’re welcome.

Then I got a bit carried away with my megalomania.

You did.

Then we thought about a goat.

We did?

We did!

What a thought! Then we tackled existentialism, - do you remember that?

I don’t remember very much of anything if I’m honest.

Mary?

Except her.

The week after we thought about the Oscars.

Almost.

Yes almost! Then we thought about Mary.

Again?

Why not?

Why not!

Then last week we thought about the sociological perspective of criticism.

We did?

We did.

Not Mary?

No.

Error!

So, ok now?

Why?

You said you were worried that these Thoughts of the Days were devoid of thought.

I did?

You did.

I don’t remember.

You don’t remember much of anything do you?

Mary?

I seem to remember we said we were going to talk about The King’s Speech.

Speak about a speech, isn’t that an anachronism?

I don’t think you’ve got the right word there.

You don’t?

I don’t.

Oxymoronic?

Could be.

Anyway, I would rather speak about Winter Bones.

I don’t know that we can, Janet said she was looking forward to what we were going to say about The King’s Speech.

She did?

She did, last week in the comments.

We get comments?

We do.

Does Mary?

Does Mary what?

Comment.

Sometimes.

Did she say anything?

About what?

You know.

I do?

You do.

She winked.

She did?

She did.

Wow!

I think we are drifting.

So?

Well, we are meant to be talking about The King’s Speech.

No we aren’t, we are meant to be thinking. These thoughts of the day…. shouldn’t they be full of…. er, thoughts?

They are.

They are?

They are.

How?

Well so far; radio, nicknames for currency, compassion, redemption religions, wisdom religions……

And Déjà vu!
