Ah-ha!
On the 10th of October i suggested that the epicentre of autumnal colour had arrived and that from then on it would only decay.I was wrong.
Overnight the autumn has suddenly surprised and although this owes in part to a lifting of the veil of rain that has gripped the land these last few days, the seasonal uprising has been led by the oak and chestnut and fern.
In October the maple held sway on emotion, today the "old boys" have changed the land to a yellow - like rippening corn at sunset.
A humble and homely, slightly tarnished, golden light pervades the senses. Can you say that?
