A Thought of The Day - sighthen (noun).

What yer doing?

Not much, sitting in the shade, dipping into the water, feeling hot, working weekdays, worrying about kids, life, future, watching others on holiday, working a bit more, thinking, writing, reading, getting in the water again, standing in the breeze at eventime looking at the recently full moon and remembering once how someone said the moon needs someone to share it.

No I meant tonight, what yer doing tonight?

Tonight? Oh, I don’t know, probably stare at the moon some more, what day is it?

Saturday.

Saturday?! It says Sunday up top.

I know but it’s Saturday at the moment.

That’s confusing.

What’s the point of having a Blog if it isn’t confusing?

Well, the point could be to help The U.S. intelligence services monitor all that’s going on.

All the more important to make it confusing then! So what yer doing?

Saturday night, hmm, well, em, or, perhaps, erm, yes.

Nothing?

Nothing.

You should get out more!

That reminds me, have you noticed?

Noticed what?

The blog!

What of it?

Well, photographically speaking May was all Spanish, June was all Venice or thereabout and July has been all Paris.

So?

I got out!

Hey – I’ve just thought – it would really cool, now that a Parisian July is coming to a close, if we could be somewhere else in August.

I’d love to be somewhere else.

That’s a yes then?

No, not exactly, it was a sighthen.

A sight hen?

No a sigh then.

Where would you like to be?

It’s a secret. Not telling. But there would be a moon.

There’s always a moon.

No, not always, not when you’re alone.

Yes there is.

No there isn’t.

Is.

Isn’t. I can keep this up for hours, I’m awarning you.

Awarning, to awarn someone? Is that this week’s made up word then?

No, it was sighthen.

A Thought of The Day - Congratulations

We didn’t really finish our chat last week did we?

No, not really – but you know what?

What?

It doesn’t really matter, we have plenty of time and if we don’t it’s because we died.

A morbid thought, are you ok?

No, but that doesn’t matter either. All that matters is that today is Deadline Day!

Of course! I forgot! Quiz of The Year 2012! Who won?

Well, strictly speaking deadline is midnight tonight, but you know what?

You’re not feeling brilliant, in fact you are a bit down so you’ve decided to take everyone down with you?

No stupid, I’m calling Time on The Quiz of The Year! It’s lingered beyond fester and there’s so much more that needs to be done.

Ok – who won?

Well, difficult…it’s not clear.

Because?

Well there’s an official “points” winner, one who wins because they were so funny, and one who was just so hopeless that they deserve something.

Cool – everyone wins.

Well, yes, except, I only bought one snake.

Ah. Can we get two more?

I don’t know, I have to delve into my memories and that’s risky.

Ok – what about the answers? Are they clear?

Yes, and no.

Because?

I lost the notes I made with the answers on, I was trying to hide them so no one could cheat and I can’t remember where I hid them.

You could delve in your memory?

Risky.

Well let’s do what IS clear. Question one?

Well you would think that WAS clear but Mary said – “Just guessing -- BLUE? [Not sure I understood this one.]”

Blue?!!

I know, it’s Mary.

But blue – how on earth?

I know, but in fact no one got the full answer; it was a two part question – Moroccan maths AND the colour of the house.

Moroccan Maths?

Yes, look at the photo and add one swordfish (7 pounds) to one red snapper (7 pounds) and take away a Tuna Steak (7 pounds twenty) equals (=) 6 pounds eighty. And there are Bread and tomato sauce on the house – which means it must be red and white/brown.

The Tuna steak price is not very clear.

I know, any number near 6 or 7 pounds would have got a point.

Question 2?

No problem, every one got it right.

That’s odd.

It was meant to be.

Number three - where do you want to go?

Hmm, proved to be a tricky one. You had to listen to the lyrics of the song, only one person did.

Number four?

Did they?

No – it was on the shoulder of the guy walking in front of the pub.

Didn’t you post about five pictures, consecutively, of the guy ?

What did Mary say?

“Yes. I mean No. I mean I don't understand the question. Am I on the right Quiz? I don't see a cool snake pen in my future. :-(“

Does she get a bonus point for that?

She gets therapy!

Number five?

Ah, the first of the trick questions. Snow was a title that appeared both years but if you listened to them they weren’t the same song.

Tricky!

But the second trick question, number six, proved not to be tricky where it was meant to be.

Miss piggy?

Yep, she was there twice, once with the Muppets once with Nureyev. But everyone spotted that. But the Chieftans slipped past unnoticed.

How can you not notice the Chieftans?

Beats me.

So - who won?

Saff.

Congratulations.

Isn’t that a Cliff Richard song?

Yep. Fitting don’t you think?

p.s. this post will be needed for question one in the Quiz of The Year 2013.
