Once upon a time in a distant time...

15 to 5.

A.M.

Wake.

Step outside.

Full-moon light on the plain behind the water hole.

Movement in the shadows.

Ethereal.

Primordial.

Time stops.

From the moon shadows…………

Can’t be!

Three others deep in the half light, tower over the trees crossing east to west, then disappearing.

Movement like the first creatures.

The first creature.

A dinosaur?

It steps towards the water, balletic slow motion, moon draped.

A giraffe.

A giant.

So gentle.

It waits.

Its neck moves the head forward and down.

Suspended on gossamer thread.

Then a movement forward.

Drinking.

The moon holds its breath.
