Day Seven of Exercises in Style A Mini Series - explained here- random posting.
Reported Speech.
They said that he had walked from the
village.
Apparently he had been drinking heavily.
The woman said that her rose bush had been
destroyed and the police asked her if she wanted to press charges.
It is supposed that she replied in the
affirmative.
They had discovered that the table had been
defaced; it was believed to be the action of the man, who was described as
‘old’.
Some said he was crazy.
Some said that he was crazy with love.
“It can be like that”, they said.
They had predicted snow, it’s falling had
been confirmed.
