How do you do it really?

You get a piece of paper and you start scribbling.

Yes, but what do you scribble?

Dates first – ours went from 21 to 31.

Then?

Well if you are lucky, whilst you are scribbling you here a Christmas song and think – ‘hey that’s good’.

Elvis?

Yep. So you scribble that in.

After that?

There are two key dates.

The 25^th and ?

Ok, three key dates.

You forgot the 25^th?!

For a moment, you need something special in there – there’s a lot of expectation.

Not much if you're anything to go by, but, ok, that’s two scribbles with Elvis. What are the other two key dates?

Well one is today – midwinter, I always like a version of ‘in the bleak midwinter’ for either the 21^st or 22^nd depending on when it is.

This year - today.
