Who was she?

The woman in the corner?

The one with the big jumper.

She was outside at first, at one of the tables – all alone.

Quarter past - on the dot.

Punctual; she might have been a journalist.

She was asking about the archives.

I know! That’s a coincidence – we were just talking about them.

To be fair we’ve been talking about a lot.

Been nattering since the start of the year.

Natter, natter, what’s it matter.

She’s observant. She mentioned the grey tones.

Fifty.


Makes you wonder.
