I didn’t know there was so much, that it could last so long or be so strong,
Three days so far.
I didn’t know that when it does, and is, you hear voices within the roof
That you recognise but don’t understand.
I didn’t know it could make the new moon shudder.
The sky so uneasy, and the trees so unstable.
And I didn’t expect it to be so warm, though I knew it was coming.
Heading my way….
Worrying me with those voices I recognise but don’t understand.
That scream sometimes in the middle of the night,
Waking me from uneven dreams,
Amidst the rattling and the battering.
I do now.
