I know this city.
I lived once by this river,
These waters; those sounds.
I slept in night so still,
Lulled by salty smell of far off ocean.
Waves washed ancient posts long abandoned
By the ghosts of ships that churned the depths.
At times I sat on this wall, by her side
And watched the lights on distant shore.
Too wide to swim, too strong to try.
Yet I walked among her low tides,
Searching for her secrets.
Today she is full
And they lay hidden.
Oh, by the way, i've been rambling ALL month - it's explained here.
