Bye

When I turned on my computer this morning – I needed to check n my future – I was greeted by the picture you see above; it filled the screen of my mackintosh laptop.

It was a touching tribute from the company that he had created and helped to be successful and although I didn’t know him I sensed that there was something special about the man.

Ok, everyone is special but some reach out a bit more and he was one such.

The fact that he was born in the same year as me makes his death a little more troubling for me and at the same time as mourning his departure I find myself questioning my own constitution, my own achievements and my own dreams.

Life is short.

Sometimes brutal.

Sometimes beautiful.

Some say it stinks, but it’s the only one we have.

Goodbye Steve, thanks.

We buried my mother the day he died, everyone coming together from odd ends of the States and Germany, self-organized and chaotic yet effectively getting there in their own time. It couldn't have been done without a proliferation of personal phones and laptops - all of which turned out to be Apple.
