What d'ya think?

Hey, I’ve got an idea for the British parliament – you know they had an election and messed it up a bit and can’t decide if anyone won or not.

It seems that everyone is getting in a tis-was about the hung parliament and they are trying to do deals with them to have a majority but those are trying to deal with these for a different majority and meanwhile some of them aren’t happy because they don’t actually like the idea and neither do some of those, or they, or these.

So I’ve got an idea.

Why doesn’t everyone just go to work, there can be a leader of each bit, someone who thinks they have a good idea could present it, everyone could have a debate where everyone judges the idea on it’s merit, and then everybody can vote with their conscience of what they think the people who voted for them want. They could even go home open an office and ask them.

Ideas that get enough votes, let’s call them good ideas, get passed into law the others, bad ideas get dumped.

We could call it something, maybe representative democracy.

What d’ya think?

Here's hoping. Maybe MPs will start doing the best for their constituencies rather than just towing the party line...
