Self Portrait

Male. 55.

Tall-ish, not enough hair on top, bushy eyebrows that won’t stop stalking. Mole-thing centre. Hairy everywhere else.

Complexion brown-ish, easy to tan, hate to sit in the sun.

Nose too big.
I like my legs.

Missing section of right toe, lawn mower accident a couple of years back.
Ouch, yes, it hurt. I screamed. I think I called ‘help’.
I got the lawnmower out on Saturday, decidedly time to start it up and cut – always careful now.

Leaking fuel pipe so I took it to the mender, along with 500 others who had taken the mower out, deciding it was time and finding….
I might get it back next week.
When it will probably be raining.

Pessimistic optimist, cynical idealist, utopian romantic.

Lazy conservative anarchist, or radical non-voter.

Something like that.

Analytical dreamer.

Me.

Have waited over 30 years to see a toe that is as disturbing as mine. Still, you have only one and in my case it is both of my big toes. The toenails were crushed in a freak accident at a party in 3rd year at university. Some guy with steel toed boots thought he was Fred Astaire and stepped backward, onto my feet -- I was wearing open toed sandals. Don't think he ever realized what he'd done. Just danced away into the crowd. Spent the rest of the evening in Toronto General Hospital where they had to cut my sandals off my swollen feet. Saved as much of nail beds as they could but they never grew back the right way. I don't wear sandals much though have to say that on the rare occasion that I walk barefoot, my son's school mates have been both repelled and fascinated by them.

Don't know whether this makes you feel better that you still have one normal toe.

Stripped your self assessment of its negative descriptors -- Left with OPTIMIST, IDEALIST, ROMANTIC, DREAMER. Much better I think.

Pollyanna and Proud.

mary, it hasn't arrived yet, though that could be because of sunflares or something.

I sent it to the email on your blog site -- adamstppr@aol.com -- at about 1:30 p.m. Toronto time (EST). Should have been there by now. Please check your junk mail just in case your provider has filtered it out. If the email is correct, I will attempt to resend.
