These are really lovely. Nice idea to show these from the back. I wonder, does anyone tear out just the heart to use as a stamp? Would probably rip it. Hmm. Are the stamps in a sequence of some sort? Or connected to ongoing events? Or are they "just" pretty (and pretty unusual)?
Good questions Anne and of course i can't answer them. I do know that firstlty the French Post Office came up with a heart shaped stamp for Valentine's day - it proved pretty popular as you can imagine - so they were used. This set, i think , is a development and further demonstration of the idea/technique but if there was a greater geopolitical issue that inspired it i dunno.
