Indian Summer

The steps towards autumn have been slow and incremental.

A softening of the temperature here, a different colour there.

But last night, for the first time in months, I put on slippers.

This morning I was disinclined to write at the table outside and chose this room.

It’s here.

September 19.

P.S. A series of improvised posts interrupted the normal flow of this blog so this is posted postscript-ly and posteriorly.

P.P.S. And it was but a minor blip. the days are once again heliocentric.

I love the picture! What sort of bird is it? I guess "heliocentric" means around the sun?

Metal definately, i always thought it was a Kingfisher but i've just looked and maybe it's a humming bird.
I was trying to find the word Elysian but thought it began with an H!
I found heliocentric which seemed to do - sun at the centre;
