Squashed fruit.
This may be general for all fruit, my personal experience is limited to Watermelon (San Francisco) and Plum (St Antonin Noble Val), but squashed against black tarmac they are incredably photogenic.
The watermelon inspired me to write a poem, the plum confused me into believing a large butterfly wing lay across my path.
Unfortunately, i can't find the poem and i didn't have my camera with me.
But someone left this in the garden.
