ocassional series part 2
On the Island of San Juan in the North west corner of the United States of America, very close to the Canadian Border, you will find the Whale museum.
Now, Whales should clearly be in the Ocean and not a museum but as museums go it's a good one and as far as i could establish. celebrates living Whales despite the presence of the bones on the outside of the building.
Highlights include the sound booth hidden at the back where an old fashioned telephone allows you to phone in to the calls of the mammals, a free vote in the naming of the newest baby born to the resident pods of Killer Whales that inhabit the waters around the Islands and a pair of binoculars with the invitation to find the replica Dorsal Fin sculptures secreted in the gloriously chaotic harbour that lies outside the upstairs window.
